Business Analyst / Product Owner

About the role

We're looking for a **Business Analyst / Product Owner** to join our team building custom CRM and ERP systems for clients. This is a hybrid role — you'll sit at the intersection of client needs and product decisions, translating business requirements into clear, buildable specs while also owning what gets prioritized and delivered.

You'll work directly with clients to understand their business processes, document requirements, and guide our development team on what to build and why. This role suits someone who's comfortable talking to non-technical stakeholders as much as they are writing detailed user stories for engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirement-gathering sessions with clients to understand their business processes and pain points
• Translate business needs into clear, structured requirements, user stories, and process flows
• Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and delivery constraints
• Write and maintain functional specifications for CRM/ERP customizations and builds
• Act as the primary liaison between clients and the development team
• Get requirement sign-offs and manage scope changes through a formal change-request process
• Support QA by clarifying acceptance criteria and validating delivered features against requirements
• Manage client expectations around timelines, feasibility, and trade-offs
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure priorities align with delivery capacity

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Functional Consultant (CRM/ERP experience strongly preferred — e.g. Odoo, SuiteCRM, Salesforce, or similar)
• Proven experience gathering and documenting requirements for software projects
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and backlog prioritization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — comfortable presenting to and pushing back on clients professionally
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, or functional specs
• Ability to balance business needs, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• Experience with wireframing/prototyping tools (Figma, Balsamiq, etc.)
• Prior experience in a client-facing software agency or consultancy
• Familiarity with CRM/ERP data models and common integrations
